Remote Working Guidance

Welcome to Royal Devon & Exeter - Remote Access Guidance. We have produced a step by step guide to help you get connected remotely. If you follow all the guides below you shouldn't have any issues.

Getting you ready

Before you can work from home you will need to complete the steps below

Step 1 - Setting up Celestix HOTPin

HOTPin is a tokenless two-factor authentication solution that enables you to use your mobile phone to login to VMware Horizon. You will need to install the application on your phone. Start by chosing the operating system of your phone below.

Step 2 - Wireless Internet Connection

Before you are able to use VMware Horizon View you will be required to connect to a wireless network, weather this is your home wireless, hotel or train. You need make sure you have an internet connection else you will have problems.

Step 3 - Proxy Settings

You may have to make the following changes if you are trying to work from an external internet connection such as your home wireless router, train or hotel network.

Step 4 - VMware Horizon View

You have now completed the all the steps required to get you logged into VMware Horizon View. Follow these last steps and you will get connected successfully.


Troubleshooting

Here are some known faults that may occur, please follow these before contacting the helpdesk.

Unable to logon as current user

This will happen after you put in your Username & HOTPin Passcode. This is safe to ignore.

Unable to logon as current user

SSL Error Occured

This will happen on occasions, mostly when you have your proxy settings enabled to work use. Disable the proxy and you should be good to go.

Unable to logon as current user

Timeout was reached

This happens when your wireless network connection isn't connected or your connection has dropped out.

Unable to logon as current user

Access Denied

This will happen if you input the incorrect HOTPin Passcode at the first login box.

Unable to logon as current user

Unknown user name or bad password

This will happen at the second login box, you have put in the incorrect username or password.
